We forget that developing any habit takes time and this is true for a practice habit also. A practice habit can only develop when the learner has become accustomed to spending time on their musical instrument on a daily basis.
Deliberately spending as little as two minutes a day, every day, will eventually lead to a practice habit and become a normal part of one’s daily routine as is true of brushing one’s teeth or eating.
It can take several months of determined dedication before practice becomes a habit. This struggle cannot and should not be left to the learner alone. Especially a young learner.
