In June 2022, we launched the M.A.D. Initiative, with the vision of positively impacting the lives of children in underprivileged communities through quality music learning experiences. We are super grateful to everyone who has chosen to support this vision and we continue to look for ways to touch more lives and make a bigger impact. ABRSM Play On Grant
We are delighted to have been selected for a grant by ABRSM’s Play On fund in support of our Making a Difference Initiative. The fund will be used to support music education programmes in Lagos State and we are very grateful for their generosity and kind consideration. We are especially proud to be the only music school in Nigeria to be selected for funding in 2023. Follow this link for the announcement on ABRSM’s Play On website.
Soundbeam Fundraising Update
Following a meeting with Adrian Price of Soundbeam.co.uk in November 2022, we have decided to launch a fundraising drive to help us purchase a Soundbeam 6 kit to support our work with children suffering from cerebal palsy and other needs as part of the MAD Initiative.
We are very grateful to everyone who supported the appeal and made a donation on our GoFundMe page. We are delighted to say that we exceeded our goal and we are looking forward to using the equipment in our work with children with special needs.
BDE goes MAD!
On the 1st of October 2022, we were delighted to meet with members of Berlin Drum Experience, a drum and percussion school in Berlin, Germany, who pledged their support for the MAD Initiative for the next 12 months. BDE’s funding will help pay for music sessions in two schools that would otherwise not be able to afford them as well as pay for the training and formal certification of a trainee music coach.
We are extremely grateful to Marco and his wonderful team and students who showed such a great interest and passion for the project.
